On 13 May 2026, a group of 17 second‑year students (10 boys and 7 girls) from the “Ștefan cel Mare” Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out their second “Peer Learning” visit to the headquarters of the Institute for Democracy and Development (I4DD). During the visit, the students had the opportunity to engage in an exchange of experience with civil society, I4DD’s partners (DCAF), and donors (SIDA, the Embassy of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova).
The purpose of this visit was to broaden access to learning through on‑site educational experiences, to familiarize students with the work of civil society and its cooperation with law enforcement authorities, key areas of collaboration, as well as the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. Beyond addressing stereotypes, prejudices, barriers, the pillars of Resolution 1325, and practical cases and examples, the interaction between the students and I4DD was guided by the importance of young people’s voices in the peace and security sector.
Such visits contribute to career orientation by exposing students to practical perspectives and to the key actors shaping the security sector.
