The Institute for Democracy and Development (I4DD) participated on 9–10 June 2026 in the Training of Trainers (ToT) dedicated to the Localization of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda within the Humanitarian–Development–Peace Nexus (Triple Nexus), organized by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP).
The event brought together experts from GNWP, UN Women, and civil society organizations engaged in peacebuilding and strengthening the resilience of communities affected by crises and conflict. I4DD’s participation contributed to showcasing the experience of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the WPS Agenda and integrating the Triple Nexus approach into local and national planning and intervention processes.
Key topics discussed included the concept of the Triple Nexus and the need for an integrated approach linking humanitarian action, sustainable development, and peacebuilding; models for localizing the WPS Agenda, with a focus on the role of women in conflict prevention, mediation, crisis response, and post-conflict reconstruction; as well as comparative reflections on conflict-affected countries, including challenges and lessons learned from Armenia, the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uganda, and Ukraine.
This Training of Trainers aims to support the multiplication of knowledge at community and institutional levels regarding the interdependence of the Triple Nexus, viewed through the perspectives of different countries.
The event also served as a valuable opportunity for networking, sharing lessons learned, discussing challenges, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
We recall that I4DD has an established partnership with GNWP within a project supported by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), implemented during the period 2026–2028.
