The role of public communication to prevent and combat disinformation and manipulation is an important component for human, community and state security. During the webinar session Ion Gîlcă, Co-founder of the AO I4DD, Alexandru Zubco, Head of Department within the Ombudsperson institution, Ivan Țurcan, Head of Section within the Political Bureau of Reintegration and Crina Balea, Investigative Journalist discussed topics current issues regarding the role of the state and civil society, the mass media for the promotion of an active and peace-oriented dialogue.

The webinar highlights the impact of misinformation and manipulation of displaced people, especially women and children. Protecting displaced persons against discrimination is a challenge for state authorities, civil society and communities in the Republic of Moldova according to experts and experts. Integrating refugees into the community without prejudice and risks that can affect human dignity is a long-term mission.

The subject of discrimination and subculture was one of the monitoring objectives of the Ombudsperson institution, reflected in the thematic reports on certain categories of refugees, according to Zubco's expert.

A concern about eradicating the manipulation of fake news or the manipulation of factual data about the real situation also concerns the transnistrian region, in the absence of effective control of the constitutional authorities on the left of the Dniester River. The state authorities are unable to verify the data provided by the de facto structures in the region regarding the needs of refugees who have settled for a living.

Information space and information content must be safe for consumers. The challenges continue to be very pronounced in the online space. Control over the flow of information online from the perspective of individual and community safety is a subject for debates and discussions.
